As my life gets more and more hectic, I'm finding that I need to combine some of my blogs. So I'm combining Good Mornin' God and my homeschool blog into my latest life-styles blog http://pinkpotpourri.blogspot.com/ in an effort to relieve some of my blogging stress. I will create a label Good Mornin' God so that you can easily find the latest posts for that section. I have prayed and prayed and God is ok with this move. This was actually His idea.
Good Mornin' God will remain active until I can remove all the content I need from it. Visit http://pinkpotpourri.blogspot.com/ for all new posts from today onward.

The Lord's Prayer
In Matthew 6:1 through 6:15 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=47&chapter=6&version=9, Jesus explains how and where we should pray and to quietly give to the needy.
The Lord's Prayer
6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
6:10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Jesus is Tempted
In Matthew 4:1 through 4:11, Satan tempts Jesus. And with every temptation that Satan offers, Jesus quotes what has been written and avoids the temptations. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%204%20;&version=9;
Today's selected verse
4:7Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Patience
Well I've done it again...it's past noon here, but I've been incredibly busy this morning and forgot about the little saying Vicki emailed me yesterday until just now. She saw it on a church billboard. I think you all will like it.
Patience is a virtue that carries a lot of "wait".

Just Some Thoughts
I've heard that not one word of the Bible should be changed. Many people consider KJV to be the original version of the Bible. I was raised on and prefer KJV but KJV is NOT the original version of the Bible. Remember Abraham, Moses, Mary....they were all Jewish so I imagine that the original passages were written in Hebrew. The KJV was a new English translation which King James authorized in 1604 from another English version. I'm not sure why but perhaps he was better able to understand the version he authorized. Sometime before that it had to be translated from Hebrew and since most Spanish, French, Danish, German, etc. can't read English, they have to have a Bible that's translated into their languages.
So basically there has to be a translation (change?) that we can all understand; otherwise the Word of God couldn't be spread throughout the world. So I do occasionally read the NIV version of the Bible if I'm stumped by a verse in the KJV version because it says the same thing in the current English language that I speak. AND I UNDERSTAND IT! I live 400 years into the future from which King James lived.
I also like different types of gospel music....the old fashioned hymns to today's modern gospel. I don't like the heavy metal type of gospel music but if it speaks to the younger generation and brings them to God then I can't argue with it. Many people will disagree with me about that but as long as the lyrics are clearly about God or Christ and staying on the right path, etc. then I do think it's ok if other music doesn't appeal to the type of people who prefer this type of music.
To sum up my thoughts, I think it's all about understanding and bringing people closer to God as long as nothing is lost or added in the translations.
